The European Partnership for Democracy family welcomes Free Press Unlimited to our partnership.
Free Press Unlimited is an international press freedom organisation based in Amsterdam that collaborates with over 300 local media partners in more than 50 countries. Their mission is to ensure that independent news and information remain available to everyone, especially people in countries where there is no or limited (press) freedom. They offer worldwide support to journalists and media professionals through their advocacy work, emergency assistance, advice, trainings, capacity building and awareness raising.
They focus on several aspects of keeping press freedom alive. As journalists are increasingly under threat all over the world, Free Press Unlimited works to create a safe and enabling work environment, to protect journalists and media outlets and to allow them to work professionally. Furthermore, independent and inclusive media are also key to fostering freedom of expression. Free Press Unlimited advocates for equal representation in and through the media, accountability of the powerful in the media and media viability.
