AHEAD Bangladesh

On going
Aug 2025 – Jan 2027

AHEAD Bangladesh is an EU-funded initiative supporting the country’s democratic transition.

To support transparent and credible elections, the project aims to support citizen election observers, promote civic and voter education, strengthen multi-party democracy, and foster inclusive political participation, among citizens and voters, particularly first time voters and underrepresented groups. Within this framework, AHEAD Bangladesh aims to support civil society and political actors before, during, and after the electoral period.

The underlying methodology of the Action is the AHEAD approach – Action for a Holistic Electoral Approach for Democracy – which focuses on follow-up to election observation recommendations to advocate for democratic accountability. This approach goes beyond traditional technical election support, and connects with longer-term democracy support strategies.

The initiative is implemented by a consortium led by the European Partnership for Democracy (EPD).
