Strengthening systems of democratic governance in African Union member states
This pan-African initiative aimed to strengthen systems of democratic governance in African Union member states, supported by the African Governance Architecture (AGA) and enshrined in the African Charter on Democracy, Elections, and Governance (ACDEG). At the core of this project was a focus on providing multi-level support to civic initiatives that advance digital means for enhanced collaboration between citizens and AU policymakers, empowering civil society and facilitating the monitoring and implementation of the ACDEG.

Support to Civic Tech

The project provided financial and technical support to initiatives developing innovative tools to promote democracy, good governance, and accountability.
Advocacy

Through strategic partnerships and active engagementhe, the project played a pivotal role in the implementation of the African Charter on Democracy, Elections and Governance (ACDEG) and related AU-shared values across the continent.
Research

The project has actively engaged in various research and advocacy initiatives to amplify citizens’ voices and foster collaboration between citizens, civic initiatives, and policymakers at all African levels.
