Nets4Dem

Uniting efforts makes our impact more powerful! EPD engages in networks of democracy expertise to reinforce and increase the overall impact of research, policy recommendations, capacity-building, civic deliberation, participation and citizenship education.

As part of Nets4Dem, we contribute to the establishment of a Network of Networks of practitioners and researchers throughout Europe.

The network now brings together more than 81 members across 38 European countries, and reaches over 200 cities, 75 national governments, 50 universities and think tanks, and 400 civil society organisations through its wider membership.

How?

Focusing on strengthening networks

The European expertise in democracy needs better collaboration and networking. Nets4Dem works to create, foster and sustain a stronger network of practitioners and researchers.

Weaving connections

Nets4Dem connects already existing actors and networks active in the wider democracy field, taking advantage of each other’s strengths and reducing duplication.

Streamlining knowledge

Nets4Dem works to systematise and connect the fragmented knowledge on democratic innovation and governance research.

Improving access to democratic innovation

Nets4Dem works to establish a coordinated European approach to promote systematic accessibility of democratic innovation.

Contributing to policy making

Policymakers and practitioners need to be better equipped to the address complex challenges they are facing for more inclusive societies and more resilient democracy. Nets4Dem aims at raising the ambition of policy making through policy recommendations to strengthen democracy at all levels of governance.
