Tijmen Rooseboom

Executive Director – Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy (NIMD)

Tijmen Rooseboom is the Executive Director of the Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy (NIMD). He joined the organization with a wealth of experience in politics and public diplomacy. His previous position was Special Envoy for the Sahel Region, where he led the West Africa and Great Lakes units at the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Before taking on that role, Rooseboom was the Ambassador-at-Large for Youth, Education, and Work, and Deputy Ambassador to Somalia. He also worked for the EU and the UN in Kenya, Ivory Coast, and South Sudan. Tijmen started his career as a political assistant to the Minister for Development Cooperation.
