Finance and Grants Assistant

Ruben Afonso joined the European Partnership for Democracy in February 2026 as a Finance and Grants Assistant. His professional interests include human rights, international cooperation and democracy support. Prior to joining EPD, he gained experience in innovation consultancy and international environments, including working for an NGO in Zambia as an Associate Monitoring & Evaluation Officer, supporting projects related to humanitarian assistance, protection and community development. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations, a Post-Graduation in Crisis and Humanitarian Action and a Master’s Degree in Human Rights and is proficient in English and Portuguese.
