The European Court of Auditors (ECA) released a special report on the EU assistance delivered to Tunisia after the Jasmine Revolution, part of the Arab Spring. According to the report, the assistance provided a significant contribution to the country’s democratic transition and economic stability following the revolution.

The document also acknowledges the beneficial role of the PASC programme in fostering civil society in Tunisia. Furthermore, through this report, the European Commission highlights “that this project is considered as a flagship project and an outstanding example in the whole neighbourhood South region.”

PASC is one of the most ambitious initiatives for democracy support that the European Union has launched in its Neighbourhood.The structural foundations of PASC are implemented by EPD and represent the most innovative part of the programme aiming to strengthen the ability of Tunisian CSOs to engage in dialogue with national and local authorities.
