EPD’s member organisation ECES has just announced a new strategic partnership with the Association of World Election Bodies, A-WEB (www.aweb.org).

A-WEB is a network of 106 member organisations (Electoral Management Bodies, EMBs) from 102 countries that strives to strengthen the capacities of EMBs and contribute to the improvement of election management in each country via peer reviews and support of partners.

ECES also had the possibility to exchange with the Electoral Commission Korea and with the Korean Institute for Civic Education and Democracy. An agreement was created so that ECES, the Electoral Commission and the Institute for Civic Education and Democracy can collaborate on their next capacity development programmes with foreign Electoral Management Bodies in Korea.

ECES and A-WEB share the conviction that enhanced effectiveness, precision and overall performance of electoral administrators and electoral stakeholders can be best achieved through continuous capacity building.

ECES’ next mission in Seoul is foreseen for March 2016, when the organisation will deliver a course on Leadership & Conflict Management Skills for 10 Electoral Management Bodies together with A-WEB.
