Afghanistan Research and Evaluation Unit – The other side of gender inequality: Men and masculinities in Afghanistan

This report shows the different notions of being a man in Afghanistan and how they contribute to gender inequality. Using interviews and surveys, the paper finds strong evidence to suggest a strictly defined definition of a man’s place in Afghan society. The report ends with recommendations on ways in which the research can be used to promote policies supporting gender equality.
