The Human Rights and Democracy Network (HRDN), a network of 47 non-governmental organisations working at the EU level, has prepared a pledge that it is asking MEPs and candidates to sign up to and in so doing affirm that they stand for human rights.

The pledge outlines simple actions that future MEPs can take to demonstrate their commitment to human rights and democracy and can be read and signed here: stand4humanrights.eu/thepledge

HRDN is an informal group of 47 NGOs operating at the EU level in the broader areas of human rights, democracy and peace building. HRDN’s vision is for human rights and democracy to be placed at the heart of the EU’s internal and external policy agenda. The network realizes this vision by advocating for an EU which effectively protects human rights at home and is a force for positive change in the world.
