The conference will be organised in association with the annual international think-tanks’ conference of PASOS – Policy Association for an Open Society, the largest annual gathering of independent think-tanks in Europe. PASOS is a network of more than 50 independent think-tanks in Europe and Central Asia.

PASOS aims to promote and protect democracy, human rights and open society values. PASOS runs training activities and joint initiatives among think-tanks, currently including projects on the Open Government Partnership in South East Europe, on European citizenship and enlargement, and on the Eastern Partnership.

Conference themes include:

    • European Integration with South East Europe, Eastern Neighbours, and Central Asia:
    • Wider European Democratic Development: Monitoring effectiveness of development co-operation and democracy assistance
    • Open Government in South-East Europe and Implications for EU Enlargement Prospects
    • Closer post-Crisis Economic Integration: New Policy Research as a Lever to Shaping More Effective Integration within and outside the EU/Civil Soceity monitoring of Eastern Partnership roadmap implementation
